Key Caregiver
Recruitment Data

As we enter the new year, we’re excited to share our latest insights and updated metrics with you. This report includes both familiar metrics and new additions, reflecting our ongoing efforts to refine the Home Care Insights data and deliver valuable, actionable information for the industry.

The metric: Average agency caregiver growth since July 2024

How we measure it: For each agency in our data set, we look at how the number of caregivers has increased or decreased since July 2024. We then average that rate of change across all agencies and look at it on a monthly basis.

Why we measure it: We think it’s important to understand caregiver growth trends to assess the overall health of the workforce and identify periods of expansion or decline. Tracking this metric helps agencies and industry leaders recognize where and when growth is happening, identify potential challenges in caregiver recruitment and retention, and develop strategies to sustain a stable and growing caregiver workforce.

💡This month’s takeaway: As discussed last month, the number of caregivers across the industry has declined significantly since July 2024, indicating potential issues with recruitment and retention. However, January has shown an uptick, suggesting a possible shift in the trend. Further monitoring will help determine if this marks the start of a sustained recovery.
